The work truck reported stolen in Maryland and believed to have been used in the abduction of Amy Renee Fabian on Friday was recovered in Mecklenburg County on Thursday. A body was also recovered. 

UPDATE: The body recovered in Mecklenburg County on Thursday has been identified as that of Amy Renee Fabian, who had been missing since May 24.

A body that could be that of missing Cumberland woman Amy Renee Fabian was located earlier today in Mecklenburg County in a wooded area off of Route 138. The missing F-350 work truck that authorities have been searching for in connection with the disappearance of Fabian was found in the same location.

The remains are being sent to Richmond to the Office of the Medical Examiner for identification.

Fabian has been missing since Friday morning. 

George W. Knisley, Fabian’s ex-boyfriend, has been charged with the murder of Matthew T. Broyles and was wanted in connection with Fabian’s disappearance. He was arrested last weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is awaiting extradition.
