Marine Corps League volunteers run concessions at Saturday's event.

The 12th annual Flea Market and Craft Sale put on by Marine Corps League Lake Country Detachment 1085 once again met with success. Detachment Adjutant Lynn Cisar said that last Saturdays event brought in a steady flow of foot traffic from morning until after 1 p.m.

We were thrilled about that, Cisar said.

An estimated 650 to 700 people turned out for the indoor event that took place at the Dixie Warehouse. Cisar said the league sold 89 spaces to 70 vendors. Those vendors ranged from people selling used items or antiques to those offering handmade crafts.

Cisar said the money raised through the event will benefit a number of charitable endeavors. The league gives care packages to hospitalized veterans and supports veterans services, but also funds Toys for Tots and supports other community projects.

The Marine Corps League Lake Country Detachment meets at Brians Steakhouse on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. Cisar said the league welcomes new members who were honorably discharged from any branch of the service, not just the marines.
