The Park View High School varsity baseball team swept a pair of games from visiting Windsor HS on Thursday in South Hill to remain unbeaten as Dragons’ pitcher Justyn Hudson was credited with both wins on the mound.
The two victories improved Park View to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Tri-Rivers District.
Park View completed a game that was halted because of darkness at Windsor HS on March 19 with the score knotted at eight after eight innings.
Hudson started the rally for the Dragons in the top of the ninth, reaching on a two-out error.
Justin Clary then reached after being hit by a pitch and Brandon Rolfe reached base on a pop-up that was dropped by the Windsor second baseman allowing a run to score.
Cameron Sheets followed with a triple to score two runs and give Park View an 11-8 lead.
Hudson got two Windsor groundouts and a strikeout in the bottom of the ninth to seal the Park View victory.
In the nightcap, Hudson was sensational and went the distance on the mound, striking out nine while scattering three walks and allowing only one hit in Park View’s 3-0 victory.
The Dragons got off to a good start in the first inning when Rolfe walked and scored on a RBI double by Sheets.
Park View added two more runs in the sixth inning when Jaison Dugger reached after being hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on a RBI single by Mason Mills.
Jarrett Hamby followed with a double to score Mills.
Windsor’s only hit was a lead-off single in the sixth inning.
Trevor Tanner, Hamby, Mills, Sheets and Clary all had one hit apiece for Park View in the contest.
The Park View JV’s dropped their first contest of the season on the road Thursday, falling 18-8 at Windsor.
