LIGHTS OUT – Park View’s Justyn Hudson struck out 11 while throwing a 1-hitter in the Dragons’ 4-1 win over Randolph-Henry HS last week.

The Park View High School varsity baseball team won its only contest on the diamond last week, topping Randolph-Henry on the road by a 4-1 score.

The victory improved the Dragons to 5-0 on the season.

Park View right-hander Justyn Hudson was once again lights out for the Dragons as he earned the complete game victory, striking out 11 and allowing only one hit and an unearned run.

Park View went right to work in the game as Justin Clary led off the top of the first with a walk and Cameron Sheets followed with a one-out double.

A double by Jaison Dugger gave Park View a 2-0 lead.

The Dragons scored two more runs in the third inning when Clary reached on an error and Sheets hit his second double of the game to score Clary.

Sheets scored later in the inning on a passed ball for a 4-0 victory.

The Statesmen got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh when Lacks reached on an error and scored on a groundout. He also had Randolph-Henry’s only hit on the day.

Park View recorded only three hits on the day as Sheets led the way with two and Dugger added one.

The Dragons’ contest against Brunswick last Monday was rained out and the game scheduled against Sussex-Central on Thursday was postponed since the Cougars were on Spring Break.

Park View was scheduled to entertain Franklin HS on Tuesday and will play host to Windsor HS on Thursday.

 PVJV’s Win, 11-1

The Baby Dragons pounded Randolph-Henry last week by an 11-1 score to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Alex Townsend started the game on the hill and threw four innings to earn the win, while Chase Edwards and Jackson Smiley pitched an inning apiece.

Nathan Jones, Townsend and Smiley each recorded three hits apiece in the victory, while Nathan Smith, Andrew Ezell and Adam Piercy added one hit apiece.
