MAKING THE PLAY – Park View HS shortstop Carson Wall throws out a Windsor HS player in action from the Lady Dragons’ thrilling 11-10 win in South Hill on Thursday afternoon.

The Park View High School varsity softball team fell behind 10-0 before making a furious comeback to earn a thrilling 11-10 win over visiting Windsor HS on Thursday afternoon in South Hill.

The victory improved Park View to 6-2 overall and 5-0 in the district.

The visitors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning by taking advantage of two hits and an error.

Windsor scored one run in the third on two hits to open up a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Dukes took advantage of two Park View errors in the fourth inning and got a 3-run homer from Turner as part of a six-run outbreak to open up a 10-0 lead.

The Lady Dragons did not quit, however, and started the comeback in the bottom of the fifth when Kaylee Coker led off with a single and Skyla Williams hit a 2-run homer.

Carson Wall followed with a single and scored on an RBI groundout by Grayson Hudson to cut the lead to 10-3.

Park View kicked their offense into high drive in the bottom of the sixth when Alyssa Berryman led off with a double and Dee Dee Cliborne reached on an error. Coker scored one run with an RBI single and Blair Clark drew a walk.

Williams drove in another run with an RBI single and Wall reached on a fielder’s choice.

Madison Ezell followed with an RBI single and Hudson reached on an error. A triple by Emma Jo Wolfe knotted the score at 10 and the Park View pitcher scored to give the Lady Dragons an 11-10 lead.

Wolfe got a deep flyout that was just short of the fence for the first out in the seventh and the Lady Dragons turned a double play to seal the victory.

Ezell, Berryman, Williams, Coker and Berryman had two hits apiece in the victory, while Hudson and Wolfe added one apiece.
