The Park View High School varsity softball team got its second straight shutout in the Group 3, Region A tournament from senior pitcher Emma Jo Wolfe to top Tabb HS 4-0 on Friday and earn its first state tournament berth since 2016.
The second-seeded Lady Dragons will play at top-seeded New Kent HS on Wednesday evening in the regional title game before opening state tourney play on Tuesday, June 4, against either the Region B champion or runner-up.
“The girls played really good,” said Park View coach Dean Crutchfield. “Emma was locating her pitches and she had good defense behind her.”
